Earl asked that I update our blog.

Good evening! It’s 6:26 on Tuesday March 11, 2025. I haven’t posted anything in a little while. Life is moving on since I fell in my kitchen and split my head open on Jan 10. My head is healing up but slowly. But life is moving on.

My relationship with Loretta (Jean) is greater than I could have ever imagined. She is an amazing, wonderful person. We both like so many of the same things. It’s surreal sometimes. I love her family and the interpersonal relationships between all of them.

I am still dealing with weakness in my knees and legs but I did manage to serve one Sunday as an usher at Church of the Harvest and have another couple of opportunities in the next few weeks. It is an amazing feeling when you walk into the sanctuary with about 5 minutes left before the praise team starts up. Kinda  gives you goose bumps. This is an amazing church. The kind of church I wish I had found in 1985.

My Bucket List has been whittled down a bit. I cant do long lines, prolonged standing or long walks.. My friend Byron Sherrod, in East Texas, is in worse shape than I am. He states that he will get thru on Crutches, a scooter, a walker or whatever it takes to complete his bucket list. I told him to let me know where his finish line was located and I would beat him to the line. But then again that has always been our relationship. He was in the Air Force as a medic 68-72 and I was in the Navy as an electrician 68-74 . We were married to high school friends and had a great life till both of our relationships fell apart as many did back then. We have been friends ever since. He went to Texas, I went to Mississippi. I will see hm again.

My daughters are doing well. Meredith, here in Memphis, is getting ready to retire from teaching. Her Husband Gus is going to be really wealthy sooner or later and I believe they intend to split their residences between Portugal and America. My daughter Chris has a 150 acre ranch west of Nashville. Her intent is Chicken coops, cattle, and maybe Hogs if it works out.

I have been blessed by God. I can’t complain about anything. I have been around the world and seen everything in the world that I feel a need to see. I have heard everything I need to hear although new music is always a pleasing surprise.

My point is that reaching the end of your life doesn’t always have to be a bad thing. At the end it is always about your satisfaction with what you have accomplished in your life. I am happy.

Love all of you.
