The Last September 30th 2025 I will ever see

 It’s been an exciting day. I was up early and went to the ATM, the Urologist, the farmers market and to Jean’s for a chicken salad lunch. Later, I paid some bills and straightened out a snafu between my secondary Medicare coverage and the Olive Branch ambulance service. I spent a hour or so going through the old photo albums. Those are the hardest to declutter. Later went to Kroger, picked up dinner and dropped off some bananas to Jean. I am back at the house checking the mail and watching a Clint Eastwood movie, “Kelley’s Hero’s”. Got some of my Christmas shopping done today. This has been a good week so far. My urologist is happy with my lifestyle. Anyway, it’s only Tuesday. The garbage is pulled down to the street. Mildred came by last Sunday and picked up the freezer in my garage. (More declutter).  Planning the Atlanta / Nashville trip for Christmas. Deciding who is paying for what and the schedule. I am trying to arrange Thanksgiving dinner between Jean and I & my b...

 September 21, 2025.  It’s a late Sunday afternoon. Jean and I went to the early Harvest service this morning then to Firehouse Subs for lunch. She is working on her writing this afternoon and I am watching Nascar and the NFL. 100 laps left in the race at Loudon New Hampshire.  I had the privilege of attending the retirement celebration for Jean’s son in law, Jason Martin. He retired after 30+ years with the Memphis Fire Department. He attained the level of Chief. There was a very large contingent of firefighters, family and friends. We ate at Marshall Steak House. Excellent food and service. It’s only 17 minutes from my house.  On the home front, I have just about recovered from 3 broken ribs suffered in a fall in my living room 7 weeks ago. I would not recommend putting broken ribs on your bucket list. I am just about healed from the knees, lower back and ribs. My mobility has improved greatly. Stamina is still suffering but much improvised over the last 2 months. ...
