Sunday Afternoon After the Race

I just finished watching the NASCAR race at Martinsville. Earl was excited with the finish. It’s been a great weekend. Yesterday Jean and I watched the Chosen Last Supper movie and went out to eat.

Today we caught the early service at The Church of the Harvest. Great music and message today. Pastor Rob spoke about the roles of women in the church. I loved hearing his message as I have come out of 70 years of the Southern Baptist Convention. I have always believed that if it were not for women, the SBC would have fallen apart years ago. Harvest embraces roles for everyone willing to serve and that’s how it should be. In addition, the Harvest Kids were selling spaghetti meals as a fund raiser. I got 2 and Jean and I lunched together at her house.

My daughter Meredith and her husband Gus are coming back from Austin Texas after a mini vacation. I talked to my other daughter Chris last night. She is staying busy helping her Uncle Jerry with building a new house, working overtime at her medical records job (working from home) and watching over her Mom, who lives in a house Chis built adjacent to her house.

This week I am taking Jean to an ENT doctor appointment, going to a small group meeting (Harvest related) & possibly taking Jean to a nail appointment (I think she wants to drive herself).

My life is great right now. My family here, my extended family here and my family in Pleasant View are making my life happy and peaceful. God loves me and I love him. I now I am going to see all of family again in Heaven.

For anyone reading all of this, please believe in God and yourself. Trust your prayerful judgement. Never take anything for granted. Pray for direction and then sit still and listen for God’s message to you .

Anyway, have a great week.
